My Story – The Heart Behind Athlete Core Mind
I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon. I grew up with sports, pressure, expectations, and survival. Like many athletes, I learned early to measure my worth by performance — points scored, minutes played, and the nod of approval from a coach or a crowd.
But no one prepared me for life off the court — the moments of self-doubt, injury, or silence. No one trained me to navigate the mental game, and for a while, that almost broke me.
Everything shifted when I stopped chasing stats and started chasing growth. That’s when I realized what athletes truly need: mental resilience, self-respect, and a safe space to build confidence that isn’t dependent on applause.
This past summer, I spent five weeks living and studying in Spain. Being far from home gave me a new perspective — I saw how much pressure we carry as athletes, students, and young men of color in America. I learned the value of slowing down, embracing discomfort, and building strength from the inside out. That experience deepened my mission: to create something bigger than myself.
Now, as a senior at UCLA studying African American Studies with a strong foundation in psychology and sociology, I’ve committed my life to helping athletes strengthen their minds as much as their bodies.
Athlete Core Mind was born from that mission: to fill the gap between athletic performance and mental wellness. This is a space where athletes can talk real, train smart, and learn to lead with confidence, clarity, and core strength — mentally and emotionally.
Whether you’re struggling with confidence, pressure, identity, or just want to be seen beyond your jersey, I got you.
